Bob Moore Construction was the general contractor for Maverick Harley-Davidson®, formerly Harley-Davidson of North Texas in Carrollton Texas. This 50,000 SF retail store is located in Carrollton, a city just north of Dallas, Texas.
The new building, constructed with tilt-up construction, provides Maverick Harley-Davidson® with 50,000 SF of space over two stories. The exterior is clad with a brick façade on the front and sides to match the look of the original Harley-Davidson manufacturing plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A 42’ tower atrium with a brick façade stands above the front entrance to the dealership.
On the interior, a large foyer inside the tower atrium welcomes customers and provides space for display of several motorcycles in an enclosed setting. The main showroom features decorative bands of thin brick veneer with additional bands and accents of dark wood on all walls. Structural columns are clad with steel and brick veneer. The floor is covered with imported ceramic floor tiling alternating with brick.
Along one wall of the showroom are the sales offices, set apart from the showroom visually with a 100% brick veneer façade. Displayed around the showroom are multiple LCD panels mounted on walls and columns that show video clips and product information that are downloaded by satellite from Harley-Davidson’s corporate offices every day. The décor is finished with large antique prints, company signage and a replica water tower.
A large staircase with brick pilasters capped in wood and connected with steel handrails leads customers to the second floor and the H.O.G Room, a relaxation area with couches and a big-screen television for Harley Owners Guild members. The 9,100 SF T-shaped second floor also includes training facilities and administrative offices.
The 20,100 SF service area includes 26 cycle lifts on cylinders that extend into the ground through the slab. The service department also includes a dynometer room and exhaust rail system. Surrounding the service department are storage spaces to accommodate dozens of motorcycles. The service department and storage rooms are surfaced with a special epoxy carpeting.
