ARLINGTON, TEXAS – October 30, 2013 – Bob Moore Construction has received the Alphonse J. Engelman Best Tilt-Up Safety Achievement Award for General Contractors from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA).
The TCA’s Safety Awards program recognizes contractors in the industry that are committed to maintaining safe working environments on their job sites. In 2007, this program was named “The Alphonse J. Engelman Safety Awards Program” in honor of past TCA president and champion of tilt-up construction safety, Al Engelman.
The Best Tilt-Up Safety Achievement Award for General Contractors recognizes the firm with the lowest incident rate for the previous year. If multiple companies have a zero incident rate, the award is given to the company with the highest number of annual work hours.
“We consider it a high honor to receive The Best Tilt-Up Safety Achievement Award,” said Ed McGuire, Executive Vice President for Bob Moore Construction. “To have our safety program recognized by a national program such as this is truly remarkable. Because this award is based on safety performance over an entire year, I believe it reflects not just the quality of our program but the commitment each of our superintendents and project managers has to maintaining the letter and the spirit of that program, day in and day out. Safety is more than a regulatory requirement. It’s a fundamental value and part of our culture. And it makes us very proud to have our efforts to maintain safe jobsites recognized in such a prestigious way.”
Bob Moore Construction’s safety program has been recognized with numerous other certifications and awards:
- In August 2013 the company became the first general contractor in the United States to be formally certified as a tilt-up company by the TCA in a program that included an evaluation of its safety program.
