ARLINGTON, TEXAS – March 22, 2017 – Northern Tool + Equipment is a manufacturer and retailer of hardware and supplies for professionals and hobbyists alike. Starting with one store in 1981, the company has grown to 95 stores in 19 states, supported by a vibrant ecommerce operation.

In 2017 the company realized that their growth had exceeded the capacity of their distribution center in Arlington, Texas and a building addition was required. To build this addition, Northern Tool & Equipment is collaborating with developerSeefried Properties in Dallas as property owner representative and Bob Moore Construction, a partner from two previous construction projects, as general contractor. CM Architecture in Minneapolis, MN will serve as the architect on this project.

The new 175,000 SF tiltwall addition will connect to the south side of the existing 262,500 SF facility. In order to provide a seamless look the entire south wall of the existing facility will be removed rather than cutting in openings to the wall. This will also improve work flow between old and new structures by eliminating the potential for bottlenecks at wall openings. The addition will include additional truck ramps and parking areas. The project will also include the construction of employee amenity areas including a new lunch / break room and outdoor patio area.

Previously, Bob Moore Construction successfully completed two retail stores for Northern Tool + Equipment, in Arlington and Lewisville.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to work again with Northern Tool + Equipment,” said Kyle Ware, Senior Project Manager for Bob Moore Construction. “It’s gratifying when clients from one project return to us again for their construction needs.

“We’re also pleased to be collaborating on another project with Seefried Properties,” added Mr. Ware. “It’s always great when we have the chance to work with experienced professionals like Seefried Properties, and we look forward to delivering an outstanding building to meet their expectations.”

Construction is expected to begin in April and be completed by year’s end.
