Bob Moore Construction was the design / build contractor for the Longhorn Harley-Davidson retail store in Grand Prairie, Texas.
This project was a relocation of Longhorn’s existing motorcycle dealership, which the company had outgrown. The interior design used wood taken from a 100+ year old barn in Wisconsin and chemically rusted corrugated metal for interior accents. The barn wood, corrugated metal and stone provide an old, rustic feel to the dealership’s décor.
The new retail building features a dramatic showroom, a private second showroom, extensive service department, sales offices and waiting area. The motorcycle service department includes 25 work bays, a Dynamometer, and overhead lubrication and exhaust rail systems.
Schedule was crucial for this construction project. The owners had to be out of their previous dealership by July 1. Bob Moore Construction obtained the building permit on January 23 and received the C.O. on June 28. Even with 32 days lost to one of the rainiest springs in Texas history, the Longhorn Harley-Davidson retail store was completed in only 125 days and every project milestone set during the design phase was met.
