Job Description:
Bob Moore Construction is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Construction Interns to join our dynamic team. This internship program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction management by working alongside industry professionals in a real-world setting. Interns will make meaningful contributions while focusing on personal career development. Outstanding interns may be considered for full-time employment upon completion of the program.
Program Overview
During the internship, you will gain comprehensive exposure to various aspects of construction management through three integrated sessions. You will assist and observe project managers in tasks like utilizing project management software, managing submittals and RFIs, and interpreting plans and specifications. In field supervision, you’ll work alongside superintendents to ensure quality control, coordinate trades, maintain daily logs, and participate in meetings. In the pre-construction phase, you’ll collaborate with estimators on reading bid documents, assembling bids, performing quantity take-offs using specialized software, and preparing schedules and budgets. This holistic experience is designed to develop your skills across all stages of construction projects.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college degree program in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with project management and estimating software is a plus (Procore, Onscreen Takeoff, Microsoft Project).
